My first visit to Yosemite National Park took place this week. Left on Tuesday, it’s a 4 hour drive to Oakhurst a small community just south of Yosemite where we stayed. On Wednesday the first big snow storm for Yosemite hit making the highway into Yosemite not passable without chains and a lot of caution. We waited 1 day and headed out very slowly on Thursday up the mountain road. We got as far as what is called the ‘Tunnel Lookout’ where the first photo was taken of Carol and Beedie (myself).
The 2nd photo is of a very hungry coyote who kept following my car. He’d obviously been fed before by tourists but we knew better. It is my understanding that the friendlier wild animals become the more likely they are to attack so we didn’t get out of the car. The last photo was taken by Carol of you know who – ME! I’ll post more Yosemite in the winter shots later in the week. Enjoy and don’t forget to click to enlarge for better viewing!
That is a gorgeous photo of the two of you, you both look so happy and relaxed, even though it must have been freezing.
Thank you Leanne. It was indeed FREEZING cold. But so worth the trip. The roads were icy and we had to use chains to make it this far. A forever memorable experience.
I got cold just looking at the shots! Brrrrrrr! Coyote has such long legs – and those eyes! Really neat shots!
Thank you Lynn. It was indeed a wonderful trip. So much to take in. So very beautiful after a freshly fallen winter storm.
Looks like a great time! I love the coyote shot.
Beautiful! 🙂
Thank you H.J. We had a most wonderful time.
such a beautiful place. I sure hope that poor coyote makes it through the winter..
Yes it is a beautiful place Vicki. I think the coyote would have a better chance of survival if he was not fed by tourists. Then he’d be forced to be more resourceful for himself.
WOW BEEDIE!!!! Just WOW BEEDIE!!!!
:O) Thank you Ms. Carol Jo. And thank you for coming with me to Yosemite!
